Party Down in Prague!

(August 26-29, 2023)

In the last post I told you about the Mozart concert we attended that was slightly different than my expectations of a 100-piece orchestra. Just a little smaller than I thought it would be, and it included opera singers and ballet dancers! FYI- There is more than one type of dancer in Prague. See below.

After that first night we came to discover that Prague is a party town. From the windows of our hotel you could hear the revelers into the wee hours. Across from our hotel was a van advertising 350 party girls, available with a quick phone call. I wonder if the two young ladies in the photo were party girls? How many party girls were available at any given time? Cannabis stores were sprinkled throughout the old town, and of course bars were everywhere. There was even a museum devoted to Slivovitz, a very potent alcoholic beverage that is akin to grappa. The Slivovitz display is in 5D. Whatever 5D is. My bestie (currently on a European cruise!) thought it might mean a 5-day hangover. That is a pretty significant hangover, but the bestie is usually spot-on! I think she has the correct answer.

Since Mr. Large and I are not hard partiers (does a bottle of wine with dinner count?) we left the revelers and the 350 party girls to do their thing, and focused on the glorious buildings of Old Town. We had a lot of rain during these four days, but we soldiered on in the sightseeing and finally crossed the river to climb the hill to the St.Vitus Cathedral and the obligatory castle. Friends, this was worth the climb. We posted photos in the prior blog post.

Below- More partying!
